The West Texas Community Supervision and Corrections Department was established in 1971 and operates under the auspices of the El Paso Council of Judges. With more than 250 employees, the department has more than 17,500 offenders under supervision at any one time.

The purpose of the West Texas Community Supervision and Corrections Department is to provide a full range of services and programs to the court. Special programs of the department include:
