This is one of the two mountain lions being held by wildlife rehabilitators of Chihuahuan Desert Wildlife Rescue. This particular lion cannot be released to the wild as it has been declawed and would be unable to survive. The other animal has only three legs.

Warning: In most states the mountain lion is protected by law. In Texas they are not. However, they do not make housepets and should be left to roam the wilds.
