Be A Part Of History:

The Buffalo Soldier Memorial Association of El Paso, Texas has been formed to design, fund, build, and erect a memorial to the Buffalo Soldier. Our goal is to donate to Fort Bliss a memorial that accurately and effectively depicts the Buffalo Soldier's contribution to the United States of America. It will be located on the expanded median inside the newly reconstructed Robert E. Lee Road gate (This is the gate nearest the El Paso Airport).

We need approximately $100,000 to design and construct this monument.

The purpose of this letter is to solicit your contribution toward this goal. All contributions are appreciated. Individual Contributors of at least $100.00 and Corporate/Organization Contributions of at least $250.00 will be recognized by having their names inscribed in a decorative brick which will be inlaid at the base of the monument. The first fifty contributors of $1,000 or more will receive a copy of the limited edition Buffalo Soldier print "The Errand of Corporal Ross" personalized by the artist, Bob Snead.

We are excited about the opportunity to create this memorial in memory of those African-American soldiers who played such a vital role in the settlement of the Southwest.

We are taking steps to make contributions tax deductible. Please make your check payable to Buffalo Soldier Memorial Association and send it to the address below.

Your early and generous response is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Anthony W. Dodd
Chairman
