This hands on session will show you how to incorporate technologies such as presentation software, CD’s and the Internet into your classroom. You will explore features of educational technology and telecommunications in a guided tour artfully integrating curriculum and TEKS. Visit the best web sites for dance and arts education.  Learn about Listserves and how to join.  Use Labanotation as a teaching tool with  CLIP  (Computerized Labanotation Instruction Program) and LabanWrite software programs.  Manipulate 3-D images with Life Forms software and discover the possibilities of participating in global choreographic projects from your desk!

Teacher Recognition

Deitra Lied, dance teacher at Bowie High School, has recently joined the Leadership Team for the Texas Center for Educator Development in the Fine Arts to develop teaching modules and in-service workshops to assist teachers across the state to implement the TEKS, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.  At the TAHPERD Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) conference Lied was elected dance education chair elect for the coming year.  Ms Lied will be the dance education chair for the year 2000.
