- Many students stayed busy all summer dancing and singing in the production of Evita presented by the Bowie Theater Company. This 4th Annual South-Side Summer Theater was held outdoors in the ampitheater under the stars. When it rained the performance moved indoors to the cafeteria and a portable stage.
- Six students participated in three days of folklorico workshops culminating in a wonderful performance at El Paso's Second Annual Mariachi Festival.
- Every summer San Ignatius sets aside three days for a wonderful fiesta to raise money for the church. This year Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan performed for the fund raiser on Friday evening, July26.
- Armijo Center August 29 held a reception for Gov. George Bush in the manner of El Segundo Barrio. Women from all over the neighborhood brought covered dishes. People from all over the city were presenting the Bushes with gifts. Not to be left out Adrian Aguilar and Jesus Alvarez presented the govenor with a Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan sweatshirt, however they were left out of the picture. - The Bowie Marching Band asked us to join them in the Fiesta de Los Flores Parade held on August 31.
- September 10 the Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan performed for the first PTA meeting of the year for Bowie.
- The area PTA meeting was held at the Staff Development Center on September 11 . Representatives from each school in the district were treated to performances by Bowie's own mariachi, Los Osos Orgullosos, and the Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan.
- The evening of Sepember 11 found the dancers performing again with the Bear's mariachi group, Los Osos Orgullosos , at Aoy Elementary welcoming parents to open house. Mr. Luna liked us so much he asked us to reserve a performance for them on 5 de Mayo!

- On the 16th of September the Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan and Los Osos Orgullosos joined forces with other members of the Chicano Studies Department and MECHA to entertain and enlighten the student body. Members of the MECHA group performed a skit designed to tell the story of the 16 de septiembre.
- September 16 celebrations continued at the Chamizal National Memorial Park. The program was for the Integrated Bilingual Education Program entitled, "EMPOWERMENT: Education in Two Languages." Dr. Paz was finally able to watch us perform.
- Guillen Middle School had a performance of the Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan during both lunch shifts on September 17 .
- The Health Fair took place on campus Wednesday evening, September 18 .
- The Whole Enchilada Fiesta in Las Cruces, New Mexico, gave us, the Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan , a special honor when they asked us to participate in the opening ceremonies Friday, October 4.
- The Child Crises Center of El Paso hosted a convention at the Camino Real in downtown El Paso Tuesday, October 8 . Both Los Osos Orgullosos and the Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan were invited to perform at the General Assembly.

The El Paso Street Festival happened over the weekend of October 11 & 12 . Wonderful weather and an enthusistic crowd both contributed to a succesful event. "They were excellent!" |

- The Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan performed at La Trinidad Methodist Church during an enchilada dinner to raise funds for the church and the day school.
- Rosa Guerrero invited us to join forces in a fun fund raising project Saturday November 16 . That project was "Dance Happening '96!" Students from all over the city met to take classes from a group of volunteer teachers who gave workshop classes in their favorite dance style. It was a wonderful success for everyone involved.

- Every year the El Paso Police Department and Pizza Hut offer a Thanksgiving dinner to hundreds of underpriviledged children in the El Paso area. This year they even offered a few tips on costume repairs!

- On Thanksgiving Day 32 students showed their school pride as they joined the Bowie Marching Band in the annual parade.
- Wednesday, December 11, The Bowie Folklorico Tenochtitlan performed in a tribute to Our Lady of Guadelupe at Iglesia San Martin de Porres in Sunland Park, New Mexico.
